Why you need a Child Theme

If you make any changes to a theme (edit the CSS styles or edit some of the PHP code), you'll lose all your work when you'll update the theme. If you would have a Child theme, all your changes will be preserved.

How to create a Child Theme

Normally, you need to create a CSS file with basic info (style.css), a functions.php file and a custom.css file where you can add all your custom style.
However, we have already done all of the above for you! So all you have left to do now is:

STEP 1:

Upload the SimplRChild folder to wp-content/themes using FTP (if you haven't done that already).

DONE!

Now simply select the child theme (SimplRChild) as your main theme from Appearance/Themes:

ALTERNATE VERSION (no need for FTP):

Step 1 From your wordpress dashboard, go to:
Appearance > Themes > Add New > Upload Theme
Step 2 Click on Choose File, then browse to your folder and select SimplRChild.zip
Step 3 Click Install Now, then wait for it to install.
Step 4 Click Activate
That't it! You're done!

And don't forget: if you need to edit your styling, you can edit the custom.css file from SimplRChild.
